STRONGERYOUTH is a 28 months ERASMUS+ KA2 YOUTH SECTOR PROJECT aim to achieve positive YOUTH DEVELOPMENT by supporting YP comprehensively in coping with MHDs, and equipping them with socioemotional skills that will help them to take care and maintain their mental wellbeing.

Most of the times, Young People with Fewer Opportunities (YPWFO) such as Young People(YP) with socioeconomic
obstacles, disabilities, with a migrant background etc., they face social exclusion. Research show that social exclusion can
lead to poor mental health i.e. depression, anxiety, poor sleep quality. Social exclusion through discrimination or
stigmatisation can cause psychological damage and harm health through long-term stress and anxiety. Studies have shown
that, 3 out of 10 YPWFO have reported high psychological distress, poor wellbeing, loneliness and being depressed for a
long period in their life. This was further increased with the COVIC 19 pandemic as it caused economic instability,
uncertainty, increased poverty and widened inequalities, with the impact felt for years to come. As, during the transition from
adolescence to adulthood, poor mental health can disrupt the key steps taken to lay the foundations for lifelong social
inclusion, it’s a fact that the provision of mental health support can change the trajectory of a person’s life, improving
outcomes for their long-term future with respect to both social exclusion and mental health. Therefore, the project aims to
support YP who feel socially excluded and have poor mental health, through the development of a MENTAL HEALTH
PREVENTION AND INTERVENTION PROGRAMME which will increase YP’s awareness on MHD, and empower them
with a variety of essential skills to cope with different life situations, and to develop healthy relationships with other people.
